To make them familiar with new words and phrases. To enable them to use new words and phrases in their practical life. KEY POINTS There was a big banyan tree in the yard.
There are many squirrels, snails and butterflies lived on the tree. The boy was fond of reading books. In his banyan tree library he collected the books like : Treasure Island, Huckleberry Finn and The Story of Dr Dolittle He made a friendship with a squirrel and started to give it pieces of cake and biscuits. The tree was full of birds during the fig season. The birds were parrots, myna, nightingles and crow. The present story we study about the fight of a cobra and a mongoose. Both are very strong opponents. The cobra raised its body three feet off the ground. There were three onlookers of the fight – the author, a myna and a wild crow. There was a story fight between cobra and mongoose. They both attacked at each other in order to kill. They both made three attempts to kill each other. In the third attempt, crow was bitten by the snake and it fell dead. Still myna was sitting on the cactus plants and watching the fight After fighting for a long time, the cobra became tired and weak. The mongoose caught the cobra by its mouth and put it into the bushes. The myna flew down and looked into the bushes.But it did not find and it flew away. Finally the fight was won by the mongoose. |
